Working together to build a healthier world and accelerate the development of safer medicines—this is the mission with which Gerry Wagenaar will soon travel to Boston and Washington, D.C.
He has been invited by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Health~Holland to participate in an exclusive Innovation Mission to the USA organ-on-chip & organoid, taking place from November 8–13. The delegation includes representatives from renowned Dutch biotech companies, academic institutions, and research institutes.
During this journey two of the world’s major hubs for organ-on-chip and organoid models will be visited. This mission is more urgent than ever: following the enactment of the U.S. FDA Modernization Act 2.0, regulators, industry leaders, and researchers are increasingly focusing on animal-free innovations—known as New Approach Methodologies (NAMs)—to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new therapies.
Within the Life Sciences & Health sector, the Netherlands is internationally recognized for its innovative biomedical models, extensive expertise in stem cell biology and the development of organoid and organ-on-chip (OoC) systems. Representing VitalTissue (a division of ETB-BISLIFE), Gerry will take our expertise overseas to build international bridges.
We wish Gerry every success during this intensive week of networking alongside RVO, Health~Holland, and the Netherlands Innovation Network (NIN) in Boston and Washington, D.C.!
